AB The following is a transcription of two interviews with Topper Carew,Director of The New Thing, a community organization in Washington, D.C. dedicated to the development of the black community through art and education. The interviews took place in Cambridge and at The New Thing and were conducted by Arthur Blackman, Ken Freidus,David Robinson, and Florence Shelton Ladd, H.G.S.E. lecturer. All photographs were taken by New Thing students.
