Abstract
In "The Application of Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development to Education"(HER, August 1979), Deanna Kuhn recommends a program of cooperation, even "integration,"between educators and developmental psychologists, on the grounds that such a program will yield mutual benefits. I believe, however, that the more likely result would be yet further damage to education, compounding the considerable damage already caused by attempts to "apply," in education, theories about phenomena quite remote from those which should form the proper focus of educators' concern. Like Kuhn, I will present my argument in reference to Piaget's theory.
